oddsurf points at other people's websites. For each one we show its own title and description, a picture of its front page as it looked when we visited, and a couple of sentences of our own about why it is worth a look.

If you own something we are showing and would rather we did not, tell us and we will take it down. You do not need a lawyer to ask.

The quick way

If the site is yours, use the removal form. We remove listings on the owner's word, without asking why and without a formal notice.

Formal notice

Under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, send a written notice to the agent above. It has to include:

  1. Your signature, physical or electronic.
  2. What work you say has been infringed.
  3. The exact oddsurf page or image you want removed, so we can find it.
  4. How to reach you — address, telephone, email.
  5. A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them.

We act on complete notices promptly and tell the affected party what we removed and why, so far as we can reach them.

If we removed something of yours in error

Send a counter-notice to the same address with your signature, what was removed and where it was, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address — or, if you are outside the United States, for Wyoming, United States.

Repeat infringement

A site that repeatedly turns out to be infringing is removed from the catalogue for good and not sourced again.

A word on false notices

Section 512(f) makes anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing liable for the damages that follow. If you are not sure whether something is yours, ask us first — the removal form is free and asks nothing of you.
